The Aspen Food and Wine Classic was established in 1983.  Since then it has become an international phenomenon, a super-sized weekend for more than 5,000 foodies and wine conesuers.  F & W was "sold out" months in advance, as it is every year.   The universe's top chef's give cooking demo's and the spirits are FLOWING---and flowing big time.  The 26th Annual Food and Wine Classic was "perhaps, the best ever" said one tight lipped NYC P.R. flak.

Aspen Spin estimates the economic impact of the weekend (travel, lodging, retail sales, food and beverage, cost of goods, staffing, sponsorship dollars, media, security, site prep/clean up, "green-ability"etc.) to be over $50,000,000.  Is that possible?  You do the math.  Our calls to American Express, publisher of Food and Wine were not returned at press time.

Oh yeah, did we mention that Aspen Mountain was open for skiing too.  Just another weekend in paradise.
