Tribal Dance

Was it John Lennon or somebody else who said "President's Day is bigger than Christmas?"  Whatever?  Maybe we said it.          1637062-1370658-thumbnail.jpg

Last week, all the kiddies were off from school, and consequentially all the private jets were lined up at Sardy Field waiting for the "wheels up" command.   Some people actually flew commercial, as well.---- But we heard the lineup of Lear's, G's, Hawker's etc. sitting next to the Highway 82 was "quite impressive".  Aspen Spin has not ventured out past the traffic circle in 8 weeks.  Cabin fever is setting in.

All the visitors had a great vacation week, bluebird days, warm and no serious snow storms.  All four mountains were skiing phenomenally.  By Sunday, the town had emptied out (thanks G-d) and all the beautiful people and kids had returned home to prepare to get back into their daily grind on Monday.  Jobs, school, car pools, dentist appointments---we used to do that stuff too.  Now we ski POW.

Ironically, Sunday night---after the final take-offs occurred, the wind picked up, the air got thick and heavy, dark clouds moved in, darker than the night. It started snowing, HARD.  Harder than you know.  ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!

2/25/08, another 15" Powder day in Aspen.  It was Soft and Deep, and "Locals Only" --- then the sun came out, ---just how it should be.
